KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hussain warned on Wednesday that a conspiracy was being hatched to spark sectarian violence in Karachi and urged the government, law-enforcement agencies and religious leaders to play their role in creating sectarian harmony.

“Sectarian harmony is the need of the hour,” he said while addressing religious scholars belonging to different schools of thought in the Jinnah Ground, near Nine Zero, the party headquarters.

“The Holy Quran also speaks about holding fast the rope of Allah and be not divided. The scholars should preach love and brotherhood. A conspiracy is being hatched to ignite sectarian strife in Karachi and people should frustrate this by remaining united.”

The MQM leader said he could not instigate people to fight as long as he was alive.

COMMENTS

  1. Dear Jamshed Khan, you know the law and order situation in Pakistan, we have lost many leaders in Pakistan and recently our young leader Motarma Banazir Butto was killed in a day light.

He is doing his best to help the country from distance, I am fine with this brother in Islam.

  2. You ARE the conspiracy. Come back to Pakistan to face the music. Why don’t you?

  3. Jalaluddin S. Hussain

Most of the political parties are not interested in free and fair elections, hence the sectarian instigation.

  4. None of this preaching is going to put robbers and murders behind bars. It is the same old political game.
Translated it means: This is not our fault.

  5. Really…….
