I have been advocating this for atleast a decade but the elite of Pakistan have money to spend on designer clothes, travel abroad and keep blaming others for their plight. You literally have to be blind to scientific knowledge not to realize the abundance of solar potential in Pakistan. Local production and feeding to the power grid of any surplus by grid tie inverters and actually making money out of it is a reality in many countries for years now. Making solar cells by villagers like raising chicken for a livelihood is a reality in neigboring India. Only when we will have the will to educate our masses in the remotest areas, will we find people who will discover local solutions to local problems. Now that would mean half the population given every opportunity to make sure they have a right to go to schools without the fear of being hunted down.

I agree with you khurram. This is a point which has been highlighted for last couple of years and govt. should take this idea in to account. This is a small project with larger benifts, and most importantly can be initiated at provinical government level or even at distrcit level.

Fuel pricing and supply are the political issue where politicians are most vulnerable so the keep the propaganda going and the Media fed.
Circular debt and line losses have more to do with the public purse, an issue they can't control.
Study the ideas of Nikola Tesla. We see his electric powered cars on the streets. They go zero to 60 mph faster than any internal combustion powered car out there. For now the answer is harnessing electric power to pull the cart.
