This law is a step in the right direction it will bring all the tax evader into the fold of the tax system and the revenue agencies could keep tabs on these free loader for the future. As for being fair to the people who pay taxes, I think they would be happy to see that there is a slight chance that others will pay their due share in the future.

As for people laundering money due to this scheme: I have to tell you I could not stop laughing at Mr Hafeez Pasha’a comment…. and public humiliation is another joke, some one should ask the esteemed economist where he plan to pay for infrastructure which is going to under take such tasks…. I hope that they pass the bill and it brings the revenue and more that they have estimated….. Another reality check for Mr Pasha, the tax system in Pakistan is non existent, so no chance of damaging it, there is no where to go but up at this point….

A step towards a functioning tax system in Pakistan is the first practical step to cure the disease this country suffers from today….
