KARACHI: The body of Mr. M.R. Kayani, former Chief Justice of the West Pakistan High Court, who passed away at 4 a.m. yesterday at Chittagong, was brought to Karachi last night by PIA Boeing on the way to Kohat, his home town. It will be flown to Kohat this morning in a PAF aircraft.

According to a Chittagong report, the belongings of Mr Kayani that he had with him at Chittagong consist of a small suitcase with 29 rupees, two air tickets, one Shepherd fountain pen, some papers containing his unfinished speech which he was to deliver at the annual dinner of the Chittagong Bar Association, a torch light and a few clothes.

Mr Kayani was heard saying that his speech at the annual dinner was going to be a memorable one.

Mr Kayani was gifted with a keen sense of humour. He was satirical without being sarcastic, humorous without being offensive. Frail, lean and thin, he was very gentle and genial in conversation, yet firm and unshakable in conviction.

According to a Peshawar report, Mr Kayani will be laid to rest in his ancestral graveyard at village Shahpur, three miles from Kohat.
