All of this commentary has not made me any wiser. I still don’t know, what does the writer want to say. Does any one know, and I am in a simple minority, or just alone. It would be helpful, if Dawn introduced a small title at the end of each blog, named Result. It might help the illiterates like me.

I to agree with the writer but to understand Maudoodi’s points requires cultural education as well as tolerance. There is no doubt that the Islamic way is really the best way forward for Pakistan and along with that comes Islamic tolerance as practiced by our great forbears. That said, cultural education and tolerance is hard to find in Pakistan of today which leans heavily towards right wing extremism. It thus becomes the task of a brilliant statesman and national leader to point the way forward. Do you find such a person in Pakistani leadership???
