Pieces of treated fish skin, to be used in fashion and to make eco-friendly jewellery, are seen in Puerto Lopez, some 350 km (217 miles) west of Quito.
This process uses no chemicals, and makes use of fish skin, which is usually discarded by fishermen. Esther Nunez of Argentina is looking to employ disabled people in this trade to make products to be sold to tourists.
