ISLAMABAD, Nov 19: The final of Margalla Chundrigar Cup (Golf Matchplay Championship 2012), organised by the Margalla Greens Golf Club for its members was played at its picturesque course the other day.
The championship trophy was contested between Rear Admiral Saleem Akhtar and Raja Wajid Ali. Vice Admiral Sayyid Khawar Ali was the chief guest at the prize distribution ceremony.
Played over 18 holes, it was a closely-contested match which Rear Admiral Saleem Akhtar won on the last hole.
The Margalla Chundrigar Cup, sponsored by the family of late I. I. Chundrigar, will be an annual fixture and will include a women’s event as well in its 2013 edition.
