Learning from US politicians

US presidential elections are over and the president Barack Obama has been re-elected for next four years. His opponent Mitt Romney accepted his political demise with an open heart and is now planning to spend his life with his family.

Our politicians should learn from the Western political class that they should accept the public decision rather than to accuse their opponents of using unfair means and malpractices in the elections. If they are rejected by the people they should do something else instead of politics.

As a Canadian-Pakistani I fully agree with the view of Mr. Faizan Afzal of Islamabad that once the people reject politicians in an election, they better do something else than politics.

In the Canadian context, Mr. Michael Ignatieff, a former head of the Liberal Party, is a good example, Once he was defeated in his constituency, in the last elections, he decided to leave politics itself .

Why cannot defeated Pakistani politicians do the same?

    • If the election rigged through the money what can you do? Everyone knows whta General Aslam Beg did. So just do not blame the politicains for crying foul
