Security high alert till Ashura: Malik
ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Rehman Malik said on Monday that security would remain high alert till 10th of Muharram in view of threats of terror attacks.
Talking to reporters here, he said all measures were being taken to ensure security and peace in the country. He said the entry and parking of vehicles within 1km and for motorcycles within half a kilometre vicinity of Imambargahs had been banned till Ashura.
He said enemies of Pakistan were out to destabilise the country but they would not succeed in their design.
Mr Malik said efforts would be made to suspend cellphone service for minimum time, adding that after Nov 30 all unregistered SIMs would be blocked.
He said the Sindh government had requested the Centre to place a ban on use of motorcycles till 10th of Muharram across the province, adding the chief secretary had been directed to prepare a strategy in this regard.—APP

Wow. Can’t develop an infrastructure and strategy to protect the people, so ban motorcycles.
Scrap the earlier suggestion to replace all motorcycles with unicycles. (It was suggested that it is hard to throw a bomb while pedaling high atop a wobbly unicycle).
Here’s a better idea. Give everyone, every citizen, a motorcycle. Then the ensuing traffic congestion would make it impossible for terrorists to get to their target.
