PESHAWAR, Nov 21: A student of Jinnah College for Women, University of Peshawar, died of cardiac arrest here on Wednesday.

Sources said that Maria Ayub, a second year FA student, was fighting against the silent killer disease for more than two years. The student was on leave from the college for several days. She came to the college in the college's bus in the morning on Wednesday but soon complained about severe pain in her chest.

The student was rushed to Khyber Teaching Hospital immediately for emergency treatment but she couldn't survive.

Her funeral prayers were offered at Peshawar Cantonment on Wednesday evening that were attended by faculty and staff of University of Peshawar including Registrar Dr Syed Fazle Hadi, PUTA president Jamil Ahmed, Associate Professor Roohullah, Imran Bangash and others. — APP
