Sports and the elite

Published November 27, 2012

RECENTLY, a bombshell was dropped on citizens’ right to play in a stadium when some bigwigs landed their helicopter in the middle of the cricket ground in Gujranwala.

They very rudely did this while the match was on. They went off in a caravan of big cars meant for their safety, ruining the pitch and grass on the ground and the young players in a state of shock. Whereas no healthy and recreational activities are easily available to our youngsters, it is shameful to discourage them by ruthless attitude of self-imposed elite in the land of pure.

May Allah give some sagacity to those who treat citizens as a herd of sheep to be pushed any time anywhere.
