KARACHI, Nov 29: Shahenshah-e-Punjab, King of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Sardar of Balochistan emerged winners on the opening day of the third NBP Disabled Twenty20 Pentangular Cup here on Wednesday.

Shahenshah-e-Punjab won both their matches at the NBP Sports Complex against defending champions Sardars of Balochistan and Sultans of Sindh.

In the two other fixtures, played at the Vital Five Ground, Federal Areas Maharajahs suffered defeats against Sardars of Balochistan and Kings of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The tournament was officially inaugurated by Iqbal Qasim, who is the chairman of the PCB’s national selection committee and chief of the NBP Sports Division.

Also present at the ceremony were president of Pakistan Disabled Cricket Association (PDCA) Saleem Karim, KCCA president Siraj-ur-Islam Bukhari, KCCA secretary Ejaz Ahmed Faruqi, PDCA honorary secretary Amiruddin Ansari, media manager Mohammad Nizam

Speaking on the occasion, Iqbal appreciated the efforts of the PDCA officials for organising events for the disabled cricketers on a regular basis. He pledged that the NBP would continue to support PDCA and sponsors for more such tournaments.
