LAHORE, Nov 30: With a two-day aggregate gross score of 141, first-day leader Ghazanfar Mahmood of the Rawalpindi Golf Club retained his top position on the second day of the second Chief of Naval Staff golf championship at the Royal Palm golf course here on Friday.
Ghazanfar, who holds respectable lead against his nearest rival Tariq Mehmood (149), completed the second day rather poorly with a score of 72.
Two other contenders in the line for winning the title are Imran Ahmed (Gymkhana) and Saleem Raza (Gujranwala Golf Club) with the same score of 154.
Competition in the individual net favours Husain Hamid, who reached 139 after first and second rounds of 72 and 67.
Slaeem Raza is the other one who looks well-placed at a score of 144, followed by Ahad Naeem, Raza Ali Khan, Danish Javed, all placed at 145.
Meanwhile, defending champion Javed Khan (Wapda) retained seniors title (gross).
Qayyum Rashid was second while AVM (r) Zakaullah claimed the third place.
Shahid Kamran was the winner of the seniors net event.
Naeem Akhter clinched the second position while Ashfaq Khalid Khan ended up third.
Ladies gross winner is Ghazala Yasmin of the Garrison Golf Club.
Nushmiya Sukhera (Royal Palm) and Tehmina Rashid (Islamabad) captured second and third place respectively.
Sameea Javed Ali of Gymkhana was ladies net category winner.
She was followed by Noreen Malik and Maryama Khan.
