MINGORA, Nov 30: Jamaat-i-Islami provincial chief Prof Mohammad Ibrahim has demanded of the government to announce formation of interim setup and date for general elections with immediate effect.
He made the demand while addressing the oath-taking ceremony of JI district office-bearers at Idara Al-Khidmat Al-Islamia in Mingora on Friday. The newly-elected district amir Maulana Fazal Subhan, former amir Mohammad Amin and Khurshid Iqbal also addressed the gathering.
Prof Ibrahim was of the view that the JI was the only political party which was fully democratic and didn’t believe in imposition of Sharia at gunpoint. He said those ridiculing Jamaat were sitting with ‘anti-Islam and anti-Pakistan forces’.
He claimed the JI would form next government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa after wining the general elections. He said the rulers could not give any relief to masses in their five years term.—Correspondent
