Reading the Complete, and I mean 180 degree, diametrically opposite outlook of the Minister and that of the IMF, one has to wonder whether they attempt to delude us on purpose or they are Actually that deluded themselves.

if he think ecomomy of pakistan is improving.. he might be right as he is finance expert. but we ordinary people not observing anythink like what honorable minster is claiming…

agree with you Akbar that while this government has faced immense challenges (domestic and external) the economy could have performed better with better macro and structural policies. what a tragedy for the country.

The recent IMF report, reported partly in yesterday’s “Dawn” has highlighted the poor state of our economy and the pathetic performance of our policy makers/economic managers. This should answer the questions posed in the well reasoned article. As someone once said,” there are lies, damned lies and statistics.” Our government depends only on fudged figures and statistics to blow it’s trumpet.
