I googled a little it is true that our media has been misinforming the nation. There is no World Snooker champion currently going as an international event.

That’s pity that our nation has been misinformed on Snooker championships. IBSF World Snooker Championship is a competition for non-professionals and amateurs and moreover, this years world snooker championship has already been held in April. Mr. Yousaf had never won any ranking tournament, let alone professional world title. As far I know, any Pakistani player had never entered (due to low or no ranking) in professional World Snooke Cahmpioship.
