LAHORE, Dec 1: The Blue’s Maid Cup is the highlight of the eight-event race card during the 13th Lahore Winter Meeting at the Racecourse here on Sunday.

A class V division I, II and III combined handicap race to be gone over the sprinting distance of 1,200 metres is set to be contested by 10 speedsters who have distinguished themselves by their speedy performances in the past.

The ongoing Lahore Winter Meetings are unique in a way that three top trainers — Amjad Ali II, Tauqir Ahmed and Haji Abid Mahmood — who have fared better in classic and cup events in the past are fielding the most serious opposition against each other.

Having won the Pakistan Derby twice, each of them is hoping against hope to make it three Derby wins when the premier classic race for four-year-old colts and fillies is held in March next year.

The first race will be held at 12.00pm.
