Clarification

ISLAMABAD, Dec 3: The Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) has clarified a couple of points made in a report that appeared in Dawn’s Monday issue under the headline “Polio outbreak in Balochistan sets off alarm bells”.

In her statement, HRCP chairperson Zohra Yusuf said: “I had identified the Hazara Shias as the targets of Lashkar-Jhangvi and Taliban, and not Punjabi settlers for whose killings Baloch separatists claim responsibility. Also, I mentioned that the HRCP team had visited Pishin, and not Qilla Abdullah.”
