COLOMBO: Pakistan’s U-23 football team won their opening match of the Mahinda Rajapaksa Challenge Trophy after they beat Bangladesh 1-0 on Monday. The only goal of the game came in the 80th minute at the Jayatilleke Stadium in Nawalapitiya when Saeed Ahmed made no mistake in putting Kaleemullah’s superb through-ball past the Bangladesh goalkeeper to make sure Pakistan started off with victory.—Agencies
