‘PCB not considering Yousuf for India tour’

LAHORE: Chief selector Iqbal Qasim has said they are not considering selecting Mohammad Yousuf for the India series.
Pakistan will play three One-day Internationals and two T20s on the tour.
“Yousuf is playing in the ongoing National T20 Cup but he did not take part in the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy. He is clearly not a candidate for selection,” Iqbal said while talking to reporters here on Tuesday.
He said both all-rounder Abdul Razzaq and spinner Raza Hasan were unfit and he would assess their fitness before considering their names for selection.
Iqbal said the selection of the squad for the Indian tour will hopefully be finalised by Saturday.
“We have started consultation for finalising the squad,” he added.
He said as the tour of India was a short one, only one team would hopefully be selected for both ODI and T20 series.
Yousuf deserves atleast 100 Tests and 300 ODIs before retirement. We have to give our Legends respect!!
A clear line needs to be drawn here…….no slot for Yousuf-type players in the Pak XI now.
A well-balanced team must be chalked up for review by ‘experts’ (no excuses of :”short tour” will
be acceptable here) free from all biases and prejudices, especially in cases like Razzaq et al.
Yousuf budhha ho gaya hai… , let him rest now and give the youngsters a chance.
Mr .Iqbal Qasim ,look at your credentials ,you are not eligible to become a selector.How can you leave a talented batsman like Mohammad Yousuf come on man.

Update to my previous comment, As I said, giving a chance and believing in abilities of your player, that’s what Indians do better than Pakistan. Pakistan wastes great talents like Yousaf.

PCB doing mistake
It is indeed a blunder by PCB.
Fake comment by selector that Razak is unfit. They hate him. The best ODI and T 20 player. He does not fixes matches If he gets in the Akmal brothers goe out. This is the politics
Chief Selector Iqbal Qasim’s personal dislike of Yousuf will cost Pakistan dearly.

Yousef should be thankful to PCB for saving him from becoming a laughing matter. Was a very good player, but was not physically fit five years ago. Now at 38 (officially, real age we all know about Pak players real ages ) he is not fit to play international cricket. Can he face Stayn and co, in South Africa, absolutely not. Iqbal Qasim is a sensible selector, deserves the credit.
Mistake? They guy is a good test player. The game has changed alot since his departure. Time to move on and bring some young blood. Nasir Jamshed is a must
Yousaf’s record doesn’t require him to be part of Qauid-e-Azam trophy. He is a proven batting legend. Iqbal Qasim and PCB should be ashamed of blatant disregard of the rarest talent in Pakistan: batting.
If the PCB doesn’t want him playing for Pakistan again, then at least he should be given a chance to retire decently, he is off-course the last ‘proper’ batsman remaining, the rest doesn’t have that caliber and material !

What a shame to leave a gifted player like Yousuf out of the tour. He is the backbone of the batting without him they are spineless. Pakistans loss

Hugeeeeee mistake PCB
I don’t know what is the matter that a great , stylish and the best Pakistani batsman , no one can reach the level of Mohammad yousaf , We cant compare any batsman even through out the world. I think PCB does not know or understand cricket they just giving chance to those even they not eligible as compare to the great yousaf , It is clear that PCB has a personal clash with him and you can check his performance in One day and test matches no one has ever attain a superb record like him through all over the world . I am sure a great batsman like yousaf not born , why PCB not letting him to play as he does not need to show his performance , He is so natural and GOD gifted player that he can show his brilliant class and form any time any where in the world, i must say please change all the persons who is running Pakistan board from top to bottom because they are all blind and does not even know and understand cricket. And i can say with fully confidence if someone new appointed in PCB WHO does understand cricket well , he would never ever refuse or reject a great player like yousaf. No one has attain a marvellous elegance in the history of Pakistan . Unfortunately, they killing cricket and it is totally unacceptable for the future of Pakistan. Mohammad yousaf has always shown his class whenever needed. I wish you all the best .
Iqbal Qasim contradicts his own statements every 2 – 3 days. Just a few days ago, he had said that Yousaf will definitely be considered for the Indian tour. This is ridiculous.
