Boycott

Published December 6, 2012

LAHORE, Dec 5: The legal fraternity on Wednesday boycotted court proceedings to protest attack on Advocate Masood Abid Naqvi.

Lawyers demanded early arrest of the culprits and exemplary punishment to them.

The Lahore High Court Bar Association held its general house meeting and passed a resolution against the life attempt on the lawyer.

Bar president Shehram Sarwar constituted a committee comprising senior bar members to monitor progress in the police investigation in the case. He urged the government to ensure security of lawyers.

He regretted that incidents of target killing of lawyers had been increasing, but the government had not come up with any effective step to protect their lives. — Staff Reporter
