LAHORE: Pakistan People’s Party’s (PPP) Central Punjab President Manzoor Wattoo has accused the Punjab government of rigging the recent by-elections, asking that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to investigate the matter, DawnNews reported.
Speaking to media representatives in Lahore on Thursday, Wattoo said that that the administration, with the help of the police, used threats to gain more votes. He said that the apex court should take notice of the rigging in Punjab, just like it did in the Waheeda Shah slapping case in Sindh.
Wattoo alleged that the Punjab government had ignored the federal government’s request to appoint Rangers to administer the by-polls.
He further said that the unsuccessful candidates of the by-elections would submit appeals in court and the ECP in order to obtain justice.

Old crookswith new shirts. They are all crooks. They are land owners, all they want is to glorify themselves, and subject the people who voted for them to more misery. Get smart the voters of Pakistan.
Mr Watto in your case its better to say – Grapes are sour. You have deprived Pakistanis of Rotti, Capra and Makkan… now still expecting to get heavy mandate are you OKAY.
Come on Mr Wattoo just because you lost and did not get what you wanted now you are on a band wagon that the election was rigged. What would have happened if you have won the election would you still be saying that election has been rigged. What a shame people like you degrade the Country. Just accept it that you have lost the election. You know that very soon you will be kicked out as you are not getting on with the Q league and President Zardari is going to flog you off.
