Garbage on roadside

Published December 8, 2012

I AM a resident of North Karachi. It is sad to see that there are no garbage bins provided in our locality by the government.

The garbage is thrown on the side of the roads, on vacant plots, parking areas, in front of our gates, on green belts and even in gutters. It affects our environment and, most importantly, our sewage system which gets blocked by the garbage dumped on the road by local shopkeepers, hotel wallahs and people at large.

This garbage invites diseases such as dengue from mosquitoes. I fail to understand why the CDGK is not taking any action to provide a basic service like garbage bins and not talking about keeping the city clean and mosquito-free.
