Arms seized, smuggler held in Peshawar

PESHAWAR, Dec 8: Police claimed to have seized a large number of arms and ammunitions and arrested an alleged smuggler in the limits of Bana Mani police station here on Saturday.

Police officials said that on a tip-off they stopped a truck bearing registration number TKF-085 near Kohat Road and recovered arms and ammunitions for it.

They said that a smuggler identified as Raham Dad, a resident of Doog Dara in Dir Upper was also arrested.

The seizures include 143 shotguns, 39 pistols of different kinds. Police said that the weapons were supplied from tribal areas to Afghanistan. A case against the accused was registered at Bana Mani police station.
