Student torture case

The district education authorities have constituted a three-member committee that would probe into the case in which a 15-year-old student died after being beaten up by his teacher in the rural area of Pour Miyana in Hassanabdal.

Talking to Dawn, Executive District Officer (EDO) Education Dr Umar Farooq said on the direction of district administration, the education authorities have formed a three-member fact-finding committee, headed by district officer (secondary education) Chaudhry Mohammad Ilyas.

He said the committee would complete its report within 48 hours and submit it to the provincial education department.
