KARACHI, Dec 12: The 15th passing-out parade of policemen doing an elite course was held here at the Benazir Bhutto Elite Police Training Centre Razzakabad on Wednesday.

Sindh police inspector general Fayyaz Ahmed Leghari was the chief guest.

As many as 1,300 policemen took the course while there was also a batch of 150 policemen who completed a “VVIP protection course”.

It was a fourth batch of policemen completing the VVIP protection course.

The police chief reviewed the parade while he was also provided a guard of honour.

Later, he gave commendation certificates and cash prizes to those who performed well during the course.

Speaking on the occasion, he said the prime responsibility of the police was to protect lives and property of the people. He added that all possible steps were being taken for the welfare of police personnel and arrangements were being made for giving scholarships to children of policemen.

The principal of the Razzakabad training centre presented the welcome address.

The passing-out policemen also demonstrated various skills they learnt during the course.—APP
