I think a train (doesn’t even need to be high speed, but just 150 km/h) from Sialkot to Lahore is the solution. The journey time would be 40 minutes instead of the current 3 hours. In an area with the density of Northern Punjab, you cannot build enough roads to accomodate all the cars. Even in Lahore they need mass transit, and not more bridges. Stop ruining the cities and creating more population and catering to the rich. Let’s build smart solutions now.

I have nothing to do what they are doing in Lahore as the people of Lahore my required, but what can I say, leave it too to people of Sialkot and they would do this by themselves, as they built Airport and some other projects too. They don’t required any help from Punjab Govt as they are busy with Lahore, Laptops etc,

No doubt Sialkot city is well known for it’s Surgical & sports manufacturing through out the world,but criticizing and deploring another city within the country for it’s infrastructure,yes i agree any government in power regardless should consider the importance of transport a viable link city to city.
There has been progress due to building of motorways linking to some cities,landscapes do change but Heritage and institutions are world apart.London 150 years from today was less than 4 miles square,mostly farmland,they are where there are today by looting our continent,presently they have safeguarded there old Heritage and build infrastructure by good Governance,Unlike our present day politicians so full self interest and professing halo words of wisdom to which many of my fellow countrymen rest on as a Duty.Whats happening in Karachi absolutely (it’s the Heart of Pakistan ) whether Sialkot or Lahore will also suffer regardless.From 1947 to present day Pakistan has done quite well,but if Acumen of Pakistani politician & business society been alike Karachi – Lahore – Sialkot & other cities including people would not be suffering as they suffer today crying for better standards.

There should also be an Engineering Institution in Sialkot. PML-Q, during its reign, had started a project of a Sweedish Institute but it was stopped.

The writer is right. Why every project should be carried out in Lahore and Lahore only? The rulers of Punjab must know that Lahore isn’t the whole of Punjab. They must build Sialkot-Lahore Motorway as soon as possible.I may tell them that, though, they may distribute laptops, how can they be sure that they would be able to get votes also from those who get these laptops? May be they get a surprise of their life and that is: the youth of Pakistan may turn tables and give all of their votes to Tehreek-i-Insaaf!
