YOUR editorial ‘Temple demolition’ (Dec 4) has rightly pointed out that the matter should have been handled more carefully considering the sensitivities, specifically the fact that a place of worship was involved.

It is disturbing that non-Muslims have hardly been given proper treatment in the country and have been increasingly marginalised with the growth of extremism. Such situations only add to the embarrassment of the minorities in Pakistan.

Religious institutions should not be harmed. The Prophet (pbuh) strictly warned against any maltreatment of people of other faiths. He said: “Beware! Whoever is cruel and hard on a non-Muslim minority, or curtails their rights, or burdens them with more than they can bear, or takes anything from them against their free will, I will complain against the person on the Day of Judgment.”

Sympathy goes to all minorities living in Pakistan where common peoples hardly hear the core islamic teachings except the fragmented pieces from different sects for their own benfits to keep business running.

The Babri masjid equivalent has happened in Pakistan. The silence of the majority to the actions of desecrating and razing the temple of another religion is beyond deafening. It does show that "the enemy" is none other than the Hindu across the border and that the desecration of their place of worship can be a proxy for some measure of revenge, hence the majority is quiet .....triumphantly, maybe????

Funny Joke...Justice and Pakistan ----- a sea apart Waris ji...!! I am saddened that a 5000 years of history was forgotten by peoples of our beautiful land for the sake of newly adopted religion...!!! Time is curel teacher and healer as well!!! Let's see how long this could go like this!! The snake of hartred is already injecting enough venom in Pakistan today!! Wake-up....many a times as a kid growing in India, I never understood Gandhi ji, he is also unfortunately refereed as a Hindu leader in Pakistan, but when I see Pakistan -- I realize why peace and peace should be talked!! No one talks Frontier Gandhi, and all Faikrs and Sufis....all gone forever...for hatred and narrow ....lanes!!!

People bullshit in the name of religion, they customize to their needs, take cover of bad stuff. What religion these belong, what god they know, how much injustice in the name of religion these people have been committing. People force others to like their religion, when they are in turmoil inside themselves. Let me live my life, you live yours. Proof is in pudding, show me what you got.

"I will complain against the person on the Day of Judgment.?? What's the use? In His name you kill and loot. In the Prophet's name, you divide and show violent bias. In secular Jinnah's name you abuse faith. And then you are surprised to reap the fruits of what you diligently sowed?

If the Prophet (pbuh) strictly warned against any maltreatment of people of other faiths; then how come puritan followers are the real evil ones. Something is wrong somewhere; right from the lips of God to the ears of those whose hands are dripping with blood.

Prophet muhammad(PBUH), advocated Jizya taxes. Which was just, and the taxes were to be levied on able-bodied non-Muslim adult males citizens of military age and affording power. Everybody should follow the prophet's example and be just and rightetious.

All this is good to write about but need to really find out how many so called Muslims follow the teaching of their prophet? From the history and looking at the reality looks it's almost none. Just look what's happening in Pakistan, Malaysia and every Muslim majority country. When the same people are in Western countries and in true democracies they cringe for special rights and dress code etc but none are willing to give up in their own countries. Shame on this hypocracy

There is intolerance not only against minorities. Majority is suffering most like shias etc. Same thing is happening in India also. Minorities muslims are in danger physically. World does not notes , but they only point Minorites are trouble in Pakistan never mentions india.

Actually Islam gives complete freedom to practice one's religion. Prophet PBUH had agreements with Christians and Jews living in Madina. It is Taliban ideology that is actually against Islam and in fact is the biggest danger to Pakistan and to Islam.
