Yes. I am always amazed when I see countries who accept huge amounts of foreign aid, speak out about how much they hate the West. They never seem to hate western money!

There isothing wrong in getting aid from foreign countries, to a limit. The United States in it’s infancy sought and got aid from France, both economically and military. If the French had not blockaded the seas off the coast of Virginia, history might be different.

“Foreign aid fuels corruption” is very true. No one should give aid to Pakistan, because it is not used for people of Pakistan; it is an easy resource of corruption for the government. I believe that foreign aid agencies also know it, but they give it to the Pakistani government any way as bribe for sake of their own purpose.

Almost all the IITs in India were created with foriegn collaborations, as you may phrase forieng aid to be. BHEL (Bharat Heavy Electric Limited), Steel Plants, Hydro-Electric Dams were with foreign “collaborations”. The difference is that India had leaders like Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad, Jawahar Lal Nehru; and the focus was on eventually getting on your feet.foriegn
