Three workers in a polio eradication campaign were shot in Pakistan on Wednesday, and two of them were killed, the latest in an unprecedented string of attacks over the past three days that has partially halted the UN-backed campaign.
The United Nations in Pakistan has pulled all staff involved in the campaign off the streets.
The government said immunisation was continuing in some areas without UN support although many workers refused to go out. Women health workers held protests in Karachi and Islamabad. – Photos by AFP, AP and Reuters

This is what happens when a loaded gun is put into the hands of an illiterate, brain-washed, conspiracy-minded person. If the people are really interested elimination of polio why they do not come out in the street and protest and demand that the Govt., the Supreme Court and the Parliment give total protection to Polio program and any crime or threath against any person associated with the Polio will be considered as the same as crime against the President, Chief Justice or Chief of Staff of the armed forces and carry the same penalty
When we look at the above photo we can see women in Pakistan are becoming more involved in demanding good governance.
