ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Qamar Zaman Kaira on Wednesday condemned the attacks on polio vaccination teams and said that terrorists wanted to damage the country's image.

Speaking to media representatives outside the parliament house, he said that the world is helping Pakistan in elimination of polio virus, which is in the interest of the country.

Commenting on contempt of court notice against Altaf Hussain, the minister said by respecting the judiciary, democratic system will be strengthened in the country, adding that everyone should respect the courts.

Kaira welcomed the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief’s decision to end protest against the judiciary.

He, moreover, appealed the judges of the higher courts to not interfere in the political matters and urged the media to show more responsibility in reporting from the courts.
