LACK of speed-breakers on Park Road is posing a life threat for students, faculty and other staff of an institute of information and technology which is located nearby.

There is a desperate need for building speed-breakers on this road because pedestrians and drivers are constantly facing a threat of accidents.

The statistics of accidents on Park Road for the years 2011 and 2012 have been taken from the Shehzad Town police station. In 2011 there were two car accidents, three accidents involving pedestrians and two cases of hit-and-run. This year there have been a bike accident and three accidents involving pedestrians.

The cases represent only the number of registered accidents. The number of unregistered accidents is unknown. If a speed-breaker is built, the number of accidents occurring due to overspeeding can be minimised.
