Bomb defused in Karachi's Lyari

KARACHI: A Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) defused a bomb concealed in a cement block  near Cheel Chowk in Karachi's Lyari area on Friday, DawnNews reported.

The bomb, concealed in a cement block, was planted outside a shop near Cheel Chowk in Karachi's Lyari area.

Police and BDS personnel reached the spot upon receiving information of the bomb planted in the area. Fear and panic gripped the locality.

According to police sources, the locally-produced bomb was fitted with a remotely controlled detonation device and six to seven kilograms of explosive material and ball bearings were used in its making.
