ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Friday issued schedule for door-to-door verification of voters in Karachi which will commence from Jan 5, DawnNews reported.

A statement, issued by the commission, said in accordance with the Supreme Court’s directives, special teams, formed to carry out the task, will start their door-to-door visits from Jan 5 and will complete the process in 18 days.

Verification of votes will then be completed in next 69 days, the statement added.

The ECP further said that Army and FC officials will assist the verification teams.

Moreover, sources told DawnNews that the commission has directed NADRA to start printing 6.8 million verification forms from Saturday. The task is expected to be completed by Dec 31.

Each form carries data for five voters, said the sources adding that the project staff, required to carryout the task, has been notified about cancellation of their vacations in the mean time.
