KARACHI, Dec 20: Slow left-armer Rashid Hanif excelled with a five-wicket haul as Tapal CC defeated Prince Imtiaz CC by 95 runs to book their place in the final rounds of the KCCA Mehdi Hasan Memorial Inter-cub cricket tournament here on Thursday.

Rashid claimed five wickets for 23 runs to send Prince Imtiaz CC crashing to 100 all out in the 26th over after Tapal CC posted 195-9 in their allotted 40 overs of their Group ‘A’ fixture at the Landhi Gymkhana Ground.

Leg-spinner Akhtar Waheed Kayani grabbed two wickets for just eight runs as only M.H. Mansoor offered resistance with a fighting knock of 33.

Earlier, Rashid had also made an invaluable contribution with the bat by scoring 31. Anop Ravi was the to-scorer for Tapal CC with 51 that included five boundaries.

Leg-spinner Shahid Ansari captured three wickets for 28 runs.
