KARACHI: Wohaib FC were at the wrong end of another 4-0 score-line in the Pakistan Premier Football League (PPFL) on Thursday as they inch closer to relegation to the second-tier.
A rampant Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) side dismantled the Wohaib side at the Korangi Baloch Football Ground here for their third 4-0 defeat on the trot and leaving them mired at the bottom spot in the league table on eight points.
PIA were 3-0 up by the 32nd minute after an early strike by Shakir Lashari was followed by goals from Nadeem Tariq and Zeshan Ali before Mohammd Ishtiaq added a second-half goal to add more gloss to their margin of victory as the airmen took their points tally to 24.
Meanwhile, Navy edged PMC Athletico 2-1 at the PNS Karsaz Ground to go up to 32 points as Mohsin scored a second-half winner after PMC’s Usman Aslam had cancelled Adnan’s early goal for the seamen.
PMC, on 20 points, remain above the relegation zone but only on goal difference over Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL).
On Friday, the two promoted sides to the PPFL, Pak-Afghan Clearing Agency (PACA) and University FC will clash in the final of the second-tier Pakistan Football Federation League (PPFL).
Friday’s fixtures:
PPFL: KESC v ZTBL (KPT Football Stadium, Karachi).
PFFL final: University FC v PACA (Rai Ali Nawaz Football Ground, Sahiwal).
