LAHORE: The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has recommended the name of Olympian Sohail Abbas for President’s Award for Pride of Performance 2013.

Having played for almost 18 years, Sohail holds world record for the highest number of goals with a tally of 348 goals.

Sohail was also the highest scorer in the 2004 Athens Games in addition to captaining the Pakistan team in the 2012 London Games. He was also part of the outfit winning gold in the 2010 Asian Games.

The Olympian has been declared top scorer in various tournaments with being top scorer in eight international events and second top scorer in the 2000 Sydney Games.
