KARAK, Dec 21: Pakistan People’s Party provincial chief Anwar Saifullah Khan said on Friday that his party would take practical steps for development of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and build dams to overcome energy crisis besides providing drinking water to people, if the party came into power as a result of coming general election.
He made these promises while speaking at a public meeting at Takht-i-Nusrati here. On the occasion, PML-N’s woman MPA Mehar Sultana and her brother Jehanzeb Khattak formally joined the PPP.
He claimed that the PPP government would make arrangements for production of 500 mega watts power from gas in Kohat and Karak districts to end loadshedding in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The PPP provincial chief said that if elected their government would establish industries in the province and enhance gas royalty of Karak district.
He said that residents had so far been deprived of natural gas though it was produced on the soil of Karak.
Party’s women wing provincial chief Asma Alamgir said that joining of the PPP by Ms Sultana and her brother was an honour for the party. Both had resigned from the PML-N.
New entrant to PPP Shazia Aurangzeb claimed that the PPP was immensely popular among masses due its endeavours for public welfare and would form next government in the province.
Ms Sulatana said that differences in the PML-N on provincial level forced them to leave the party, while Jehanzeb Khattak said that the PML-N leadership had been ignoring workers of the party. He resolved to win election on PPP ticket in general election.
