Blast in Karachi injures seven

KARACHI: Unknown persons threw a grenade at job-seekers at the Zonal police station in Khawaja Ajmer Nagri area in Karachi, which exploded early on Sunday, DawnNews reported. According to polic sources unknown motorcycle riders lobbed a RGD-1 grenade at job-seekers lined up to submit applications for the police recruitment being carried out at the Khawaja Ajmer Nagri Zonal police head quarters. Seven people were injured in the attack. Emergency and rescue teams reached the spot and shifted the injured to Abbasi Shaheed hospital. In an unrelated incident, two people were injured by firing in Karachi's Jahangir Road area. Enraged protestors resorted to aerial firing and stone pelting, disrupting vehicular traffic in the area after the incident. Three persons were injured in a firing incident near Azeem Plaza in Garden area of Karachi. One of the injured succumbed to his wounds later during treatment. A body was found near Rexer Lines area of Karachi.
