THIS is with reference to the murder of polio workers. Some of the girls belonged to lower middle class but educated families.

They have been deprived now even of the meagre money which the polio ‘droppers’ used to bring home: Rs 250 a day.

I request philanthropists, of whom there is no dearth in Pakistan, to come forward and set up a fund for the victims’ families.

I have no doubt known philanthropists, besides common citizens, will donate money in a big way.

I appeal to school and college principals to motivate their students into donating money for the fund and passing it on to the affected families in Karachi and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
