Is there any other country in the world in which people got killed by consuming cough syrups? outrageous! Anybody can sell anything as medicines in the country..Where is the government..where is the action?

Dextromethorphan containing drugs are sold on prescription only and by a registered pharmacist in some countries signatures and particulars of purchaser are recorded by the pharmacist in Pakistan sale of drugs is not controlled by a Pharmacist . The cough syrups sold here contain 10 mg per 5 ml of dextromethorphan and a bottle of 120 ml will contain 240 mg the toxic dose starts from 2 bottles or more the addict thus purchase 4 or 5 bottles. Instead of chasing manufacturer for the fault it is better to put a clamp on free for all sale of drugs.
