Fair elections and leadership

THIS refers to the news report ‘PM Ashraf urges action to shun despondency’ (Dec 21). I, as a Pakistani Canadian, agree with him.

A country of 190 million people full of untapped and unexploited mineral and natural resources surely has a ‘bright future ahead’.

Whether we are living inside the country or outside, we will have to work hard and sincerely.

Numerous difficulties and problems cannot deter us from working for the progress of our country.

Perhaps, holding of  relatively free and fair elections will throw a patriotic collective leadership. At least we should hope so.

  1. Numerous difficulties and problems cannot deter us from working for the progress of our country. Who would clean up the mess? Who will remove the hurdles, who has the courage to bring the entire country on one platform, who is our mascot, who will give us the sense of security, who will set up the system based upon truth and justice.
