I WAS amazed to recently see a picture in the press of a former British minister leaving his house on a bicycle.

This sight left me with a feeling of awe for that country’s culture and a longing to have such a culture in our country.

Such a sight is unimaginable in our country where politicians are seen roaming around in caravans of luxurious cars in the name of official or private protocol.

This picture should serve as a model for our leaders who are hell-bent upon showing off an extravagant and pompous lifestyle with utter disregard for the plight of the common man.
