Pakistanis go on hunger strike in Austria

Refugees from Afghanistan and Pakistan take part in a hunger strike at Votivkirche church in Vienna.

Some 30 refugees who are on hunger strike to protest for better conditions for asylum seekers in Austria, have been allowed to stay in the catholic church for the duration of their demonstration. A protest camp outside the church was cleared out earlier by the police. – Photo by Reuters

@Plain Speak - Firstly, you shouldn't be passing any judgement at all, circumstances and situations forces people to migrate. You don't know why these people are there at the first place. I just hope and pray that no one faces a situation where they have to leave their loved one's. Seriously, you need to grow-up a little.

They kill their own children in schools, cinemas etc and still moral lectures keep on coming from them. this is hypocracy at its best.

Unfortunately a lot of people go to other countries with the hope of finding work to only realise that it's not that easy as they heard and thus end up in this situation. I hope the situation gets better.

How can you call people who you don't know 'low lifes'? These people have left everything behind to make a better future for themselves. You can't expect them to have all the facts about the world before they decide to go. Migration is a fact of life, its only going to happen more and more. I can't begin to imagine how desperate and hopeless their lives and their situations must have been. I feel pity for refugees more than anyone else. You should be ashamed of yourself for passing judgement on another before walking in their shoes. What could be a more Christian approach? Islam teaches me that we are all brothers.

They hate Western morality and justice, but they demand a fair and just place in Western nations; what is wrong with this picture? They want to remove the Western system that allows them to express their opinion, with a suppressive one that they ran away from.

Give them a lie detector test and ask them what they really think about non-muslims. These people have been taught to hate non-muslims since birth by their family, schools, society, press and media. They will always be trouble in future. Why dont they go to Saudi Arabia instead ?

Austria is beautiful country. I have been there. But these refugees will create ghettos and polute the cultural environment. Why they didn't protest about poor condition of life back home? Lack of guts I am sure. But the same people feel strong enough to demand justice from people who woe them nothin. How and why? Because the host country ALLOWS them to do so. And on the top of it a Christian church provides a roof over their head. Back home these very people were silent when a Christian was abused and Church was ransacked.God save Europe from these low lifes.

Muslims asked for a separate nation because they were minority in Hindu dominated India where they wanted to be a majority and have the full power, but now the situation has become such that they are ready to live as a minority in any other country.....I believe Jinnah would have been died of heart attack by seeing the current situation of PAKISTAN if he would have been alive today.
