Shopkeeper kills two ‘bandits’

KARACHI, Dec 28: Two suspected bandits were shot dead at a shop on the main Hub River Road on Friday night as the shopkeeper resisting the robbery attempt fired at them, police said.

The police said that the two bandits entered the shop of an oil depot and opened fire on the owner of the shop within the remit of the Saeedabad police station.

“The shop owner, Najeeb Niazi, escaped the attack and retaliated by returning fire, wounding the two bandits,” said Baldia Town SP
Shahjehan Khan.The wounded suspects were taken to the Civil Hospital Karachi, but they died on their way to hospital, the SP added.

The suspects were identified as Tariq and Babar and two TT pistols were recovered from their possession, he added.

Man found shot dead in Lyari

The body of a young man was found on Syed Mehmood Shah Road within the remit of the Kalri police station in Lyari on Friday morning, police said.

The victim had been shot in the head, they added. The body was taken to the Civil Hospital Karachi where it was identified as that of 28-year-old Mohammad Kashif.

A brother of the victim, Hanif, told the police that the victim was a resident of Ghans Mandi and left home on Thursday at 7pm before going missing. The police said the victim did not have any political affiliation.
