Taxi driver drowns

RAWALPINDI, Dec 30: A taxi driver drowned in a lake in the Industrial Area of Rawat on Sunday.

Police said Kamran Javed, 25, was washing his taxi when he fell into the lake. Rescue 1122 staff retrieved the body and handed it over to the family of the deceased.

In another incident, a 30-year-old man received about 40 per cent burns when a room of his house caught fire due to gas leakage in Dhoke Tatyal at Chakri Road.

The injured, Amanat Ali, was taken to the Holy Family Hospital where he was out of danger. — Staff Reporter
