it will be strange if rulers can eradicate smoking but can’t do anything about corruption that is causing more harm to the society.

I am glad Pakistan is thinking about these issues and taking steps to address them. Enforcement is always a challenge but such steps do provide a chance for people to think about it. We cannot equate this eating or other things. Smoking is now considered a disgusting thing everywhere in the U.S. It takes a lot of good campaigning to change the perception. We have to think what kind of a nation we would like to be in all respects moving forward.

Let us not give more power to police to stop smoking. Smoking, although unhealthy, is a pleasure activity that many enjoy. What next – stop people from eating too much Biryani because that is making them fat and vulnerable to heart diseases?

Great decision but it shows value of human beings living in Islamabad is more than residents of other cities or writ of govt is confined to Islamabad only. It is an international mockery, no govt to date is serious in banning tobacco
