72-hour CNG stations closure
KARACHI, Dec 31: The supply of compressed natural gas (CNG) to fuel stations will remain suspended for 72 hours (three days) throughout Sindh said a media release issued by the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) on Monday.
“All CNG stations in Sindh will remain closed from 8am on Tuesday to 8am on Friday,” read the release.
“This step is being taken by the gas utility to improve the line-pack position all over Sindh, which has been badly disturbed due to the short supply of gas from different gas fields causing depletion of the line-pack and low pressure in the system.”
This is the longest closure announced by the gas utility to date as earlier the supply had at the most been suspended for 48 hours.
Meanwhile, in order to facilitate customers whose due date for payment of gas bills falls on Jan 1, which is a bank holiday, the Sui Southern Gas Company has announced that it is extending the date by a day to Jan 2.
