Why treating him a batsman? He has been playing as a bowler for the last couple of years - WC2011 is the best example. His bowling has gone down a great deal but his batting has always been a surprise!

If he again starts bowling accurately and economically with few wicket taking deliveeries then who needs his batting?

Indian bowling is the most easiest bowling to bat in the world. We have seen many cricketers making a comeback against Indian bowling, classic example being Sanath Jayasurya, Ricky Ponting, etc. If Afridi cannot get back his form against Indian bowling attack, then there is no chance that he will get back his form against any opposition. I think PCB should include him as a bowler and don't expect much from his batting. Many times he has won matches for Pakistan through his bowling.

I failed to understand the PCB selection approach towards Afridi? Poor Afridi has hardly got a chance to bat longer due to lack of overs left in the game...
Take the recent two T20s played against India as an example: First game he came in at 18.5 overs, faced only 2-balls to score 3 runs; Second game he came in at 16.2 overs (46 to win off 22 balls) and ended up scoring 11 runs in 5 balls...
NOW, how can anyone judge Afridi's batting in these circumstances? Afridi, in the past has been in these circumstances numerous times and the poor guy tries to scramble for runs so that the team can possibly win while uncaring for his personal batting achievements...
It is unfair how selection team has ruled him out from ODIs. Moving forward, I would hate to see Afridi totally disassociating himself from PCB and become a freelance cricketer; which where this is heading too...
Miss you Afridi and I will always be your fan!!

Afridi is an over rated slogger. 90% of the time he has been predictably dismissed caught long on or long off. If he has not learned a thing in 12 years can one really expect him to do so in 12 months, wouldn't happen. Pakistan has wasted enough time on Afridi, time to move on and bring in new talent.

Afridi is playing domestic cricket for years, his temperament never changed and now too late to change anything. Afridi should just retire and also we already have another afridi in the shape of umer akmal who also can't control his nerves and has mental blocks. We can't afford to have both of them in the team at the same time.
