Terror bid foiled: 70 kilograms explosives defused in Peshawar

PESHAWAR: Police on Tuesday defused 70 kilograms of explosive material in Peshawar, foiling an attack in the provincial capital, DawnNews reported.

Police said unknown militants had planted the explosives outside a tribal elder’s house situated in the area of Achini within the limits of the Sarband police station.

Area residents had contacted the police with information of the explosive material upon which a bomb disposal squad had reached the site and defused the 70 kilograms of explosives.

Subsequently, the police cordoned off the area and started a search operation to nab those involved.
